Brothers and sisters!
Children of the Most High!
Pedestrians who just wanted to get coffee but accidentally walked into a divine appointment!
I have come with a word from heaven today!
A word so urgent…
A word so necessary…
A word so overdue…
YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL NEEDS A BREAK!
Can I get an amen?
Not because your angel doesn’t love you.
Not because your angel has given up on you.
But because some of y’all create enough drama to qualify as a natural disaster!
Some people wake up every morning and their guardian angel immediately reaches for heavenly aspirin.
The angel sees you open your eyes and says, “Lord, give me strength.”
The Lord says, “I already did. That’s why I assigned you to them.”
Brothers and sisters, I believe there are angels in heaven filling out paperwork right now.
“Reason for PTO request?”
“Emotional exhaustion.”
“Caused by?”
“Continuous emergency interventions.”
Oh yes, hear me now.
THE CHAOS AGENT
You know who you are.
Everywhere you go, peace packs its bags and leaves.
You don’t enter situations.
You arrive like a tsunami.
You turn family dinners into an international incident.
Your guardian angel follows behind you carrying a fire extinguisher.
For conversational fires.
For relationship fires.
For those moments when your mouth starts moving before your brain clocks in for work.
Your angel isn’t guiding you anymore.
Your angel is in damage control.
THE REPEAT OFFENDER
This is the person who keeps praying the same prayer about the same problem caused by the same decision.
Every month it’s a brand-new crisis with the exact same address.
God says, “Didn’t we cover this?”
Angel says, “We covered it. We highlighted it. We made a slideshow.”
You ask heaven for wisdom.
God sends wisdom.
Then you ignore it and drive directly into the ditch like it’s your destiny.
Your guardian angel stands beside you holding a giant sign that says:
“I TOLD YOU SO.”
But angels are too polite to say it.
THE PERSON WHO KNOWS BETTER
This isn’t ignorance.
This is experience.
You already know what peace feels like.
You already know which door not to open.
But then one boring afternoon your common sense goes on vacation.
Suddenly you’re texting people heaven already delivered you from.
Suddenly you’re reopening wounds that were finally healing.
Your guardian angel is standing there screaming silently.
Because angels don’t curse.
Now brothers and sisters, let me get serious.
Because underneath all the laughter is something holy.
The truth is this:
Our guardian angels don’t stay because we’re easy.
They stay because we’re loved.
That’s the miracle.
The miracle is that heaven doesn’t abandon us.
Every morning God says, “Try again.”
Every morning mercy says, “Get back up.”
Every morning love says, “I’m not finished with you.”
God has not stopped walking with you.
The One who knows every foolish thing you’ve done still calls you beloved.
The One who saw the whole train wreck before it happened still chose to stay.
That is grace.
That is mercy.
That is love beyond understanding.
So what should we do?
Give your guardian angel a break.
Before sending that text…
Pray.
Before starting that argument…
Breathe.
Before making that terrible decision you’ve already rehearsed seventeen times…
Ask yourself:
“Do I want peace, or do I want another story to tell?”
Because some of y’all have enough stories already.
Your autobiography is three hundred pages of avoidable plot twists.
And heaven is begging for a calmer sequel.
So I leave you with this.
Plesse let your guardian angel sit down for five minutes.
Let them drink some heavenly coffee.
And if they suddenly look rested next week…
You’ll know the sermon worked.
May your troubles be fewer.
May your wisdom be greater.
May your drama be reduced by at least forty percent.
And may your guardian angel finally get that vacation request approved.
Amen!
