The blue moon was waiting for us

Written by:

We drove about 70 miles back and forth last night along the Potomac River looking for the blue moon without seeing it and then it popped out from behind the clouds when we arrived home. What a nice welcome home gift!

Watching the blue moon made me remember and appreciate the other times we have seen a beautiful full moon on our nightly drives this year.

The moon’s presence has a way of making time irrelevant, of casting a spell that draws me away from the daily grind, the mundane worries that usually crowd my mind.

Under its gaze, I am reminded of the ancient secrets it has witnessed—the eons that have slipped by, the rise and fall of civilizations, the countless lives that have come and gone beneath its steady, eternal watch.

The moon, with its endless cycle of waxing and waning, mirrors the rhythms that govern our lives—the ebb and flow of days, the births and deaths, the joys and sorrows that we all must bear. It is a celestial clock, marking time not in hours or minutes but in the slow, deliberate turning of the universe.

The moon reminds me that life is a series of phases, each with its own unique beauty and challenges. It guides us through the night, its light steady even when the path ahead seems uncertain.

Watching a full moon is not just an observation; it is an experience of the soul. It is a reminder of our connection to something greater, something that transcends time and space.
